David Boyd Teague III (born June 4, 1983) is an American professional basketball player. He last played for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA Development League, which is a league where players develop their skills. David also played college basketball for Purdue University.

High School Basketball
David Teague went to Pike High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. There, he played basketball with Chris Thomas, who also became a basketball star. In his senior year (2000–2001), David scored about 15.3 points per game. He also grabbed 4.7 rebounds and made 1.3 assists per game. After high school, he spent an extra year at Bridgton Academy in 2001–2002 to prepare for college.
College Basketball Career
David Teague played college basketball for Purdue University.
Freshman Year at Purdue
In his first year, David played in 30 games. He started two of those games. He set a new record for freshmen by making 35 three-point shots in one season. On average, he scored 5.7 points and got 2.2 rebounds per game.
Sophomore Year at Purdue
During his second year, David started all 31 games. He was one of the top players on his team for scoring and rebounding. He averaged 11.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. He scored ten or more points in 14 of the last 17 games that season.
Junior Year at Purdue
In his third year, David continued to play well. He was among the top players in the Big Ten Conference for scoring, rebounding, and three-point shots. He played in 26 games, starting all of them. He averaged 14.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.
Senior Year and Injury
On November 14, 2005, David had a serious knee injury during practice. He tore his ACL, which meant he missed the entire 2005–2006 season. Because of this injury, he was given a "medical hardship." This allowed him to play an extra senior year, called a "redshirt year," in 2006–2007.
He returned strong, averaging 14.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 34 games. He started every game that season. His return helped Purdue reach the second round of the NCAA college basketball tournament. They eventually lost to Florida, who went on to win the championship. On February 15, 2007, David scored a career-high 32 points against Indiana.
Professional Basketball Career
After college, David Teague was not chosen in the 2007 NBA draft. However, he still went on to have a professional basketball career playing for many teams around the world.
- 2007–2008: He started his professional career in Greece, playing for AEL Larissa.
- 2008–2009: He then moved to France to play for JA Vichy.
- 2009–2010: In August 2009, David joined Gießen 46ers in Germany. In January 2010, he had an injury that ended his season early. He left the Gießen team in March 2010.
- 2010–2011: In December 2010, David signed with Flamengo Basketball in Brazil for the rest of their season.
- 2011–2012: On August 7, 2011, he signed with Pallacanestro Sant'Antimo in Italy. In February 2012, he left that team and joined Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in Ukraine for the rest of the season.
- 2012–2013: In August 2012, David signed with Peñarol de Mar del Plata in Argentina.
- 2013: In November 2013, he played for Club Atlético Bohemios in Uruguay for a short time, leaving in December after five games.
- 2014: In March 2014, he joined Cafeteros de Armenia in Colombia. Later that year, on November 2, 2014, David joined the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA Development League. He played in five games before leaving the team on December 20, 2014.
Personal Life
David Teague is the son of David Teague Jr. and Patrice Kendrick. He has one brother named Shawn and one sister named Darrice. David is also the cousin of NBA players Jeff Teague and Marquis Teague. He has two sons, David Teague IV and Ronald Ward, and one daughter, Ashiyah Teague. His nephews are Darrick and Erick King.
