David Edward Washington, born on November 20, 1990, is an American professional baseball player. He plays as a first baseman and an outfielder. He used to play in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Baltimore Orioles. Currently, he is a free agent, meaning he is not signed with any team.

Baseball Career Highlights

Starting with the St. Louis Cardinals

David Washington went to University City High School in San Diego, California. The St. Louis Cardinals picked him in the 15th round of the 2009 MLB Draft. He played for teams within the Cardinals organization until 2016.

In 2016, he played for two different teams: the Double-A Springfield Cardinals and the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds. He hit 30 home runs and had 77 RBI (runs batted in) that year. After the 2016 season, he became a free agent.

Playing for the Baltimore Orioles

On November 22, 2016, Washington signed a contract with the Baltimore Orioles. He joined their minor league teams. On June 14, 2017, he was called up to play in the major leagues for the first time.

He made his MLB debut on the same day. He played in 3 games for the Orioles but did not get any hits. On July 6, he was removed from the Orioles' main roster. He then went to play for the Triple-A Norfolk Tides. In 103 games for the Tides, he hit 18 home runs and had 42 RBI. He became a free agent again after the 2017 season.

Long Island Ducks

In 2018, Washington signed with the Long Island Ducks in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. He played with them again in 2019.

On February 3, 2020, he joined the Milwaukee Milkmen in the American Association. He played 60 games and helped the Milkmen win the American Association championship in 2020. He re-signed with them in 2021. That year, he had a great season, hitting 17 home runs and 61 RBI.

Winnipeg Goldeyes

On January 6, 2022, Washington was traded to the Winnipeg Goldeyes, another team in the American Association. He played 99 games for them. He hit 30 home runs and had 80 RBI, showing his power at the plate.

Gastonia Honey Hunters

On July 11, 2023, Washington signed with the Gastonia Honey Hunters in the Atlantic League. In 62 games, he hit 22 home runs and had 51 RBI. He became a free agent at the end of that season.

Dorados de Chihuahua

On April 27, 2024, Washington signed with the Dorados de Chihuahua in the Mexican League. He played only one game for them before being released on April 30.

York Revolution

On May 3, 2024, Washington signed with the York Revolution of the Atlantic League. He played 50 games for York, hitting 23 home runs and getting 60 RBI.

Saraperos de Saltillo

On July 1, 2024, the Saraperos de Saltillo from the Mexican League bought his contract. He played three games for them before being released on July 5.

Return to York Revolution

On July 16, 2024, David Washington signed with the York Revolution for a second time. He helped the York Revolution win the Atlantic League championship. After the season, he became a free agent.
