The Story of Dawn
Dawn has an interesting past! It was originally known by a different name: Nevada. The community began to form in 1854. This was when a sawmill was built in the area. Sawmills are places where logs are cut into lumber.
A few years later, in 1857, a post office was opened in the community. This post office was given the name Dawn. The post office served the community for many years. It remained open and in operation until 1935.
