- In 1988, a very big food company called Nestlé bought DeMet's.
- Later, in 2007, a company called Signature Snacks bought the DeMet's brand from Nestlé.
- Around the same time, another company called Brynwood Partners also bought the "Turtles" candy brand from Nestlé. They combined it with Signature Snacks.
- Brynwood Partners then brought back the old name, DeMet's Candy Company. They put all their candy brands, like Stixx, Flipz chocolate covered pretzels, Treasures, and Turtles, under this name.
- In 2013, Brynwood Partners sold DeMet's Candy Company to Yıldız Holding. This is the company that owns DeMet's today!
