Deaimon is a Japanese manga (comic book) series created by Rin Asano. It's about a sweet shop in Kyoto, Japan. The manga started in May 2016 and has many books. An anime TV show based on the manga was also made. It aired from April to June 2022.

What is Deaimon About?
The story of Deaimon takes place in a traditional Japanese sweet shop. This shop is located in Kyoto, a city famous for its culture. The main character is a young man named Nagomu Irino.
Nagomu's Journey Home
Nagomu is the only son of the family who owns the sweet shop. Ten years ago, he left home to chase his dream. He wanted to become a musician in Tokyo. One day, he gets important news from his family. His father is in the hospital. Nagomu decides to give up his music dream. He returns home to help with the family business.
A New Challenge at the Shop
When Nagomu arrives, he finds a surprise. A ten-year-old girl named Itsuka Yukihira is now working at the shop. Nagomu's mother became Itsuka's foster mom. She took care of Itsuka while Nagomu was away. Now, Nagomu's mom has a plan. She says Nagomu and Itsuka will compete. The winner will get to take over the family sweet shop.

Nagomu Irino
- Nagomu Irino (voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki): He is the main character. Nagomu left his family's sweet shop, called Ryokushō, after college. He wanted to be a musician in Tokyo. When his father got sick, Nagomu came back home. He returned to help out at the shop.
Itsuka Yukihira
- Itsuka Yukihira (voiced by Kozue Yūki): She is a young girl, ten years old at the start of the story. Itsuka has been living with Nagomu's family for about a year. She helps out a lot in the sweet shop. Nagomu's father wants Itsuka to inherit the shop. Itsuka is determined not to lose it to Nagomu.
Nagomu's Parents
- Heigo Irino (voiced by Rikiya Koyama): He is Nagomu's father. Heigo is the current owner of the Ryokushō sweet shop.
- Fuki Irino (voiced by Sayaka Ohara): She is Nagomu's mother. Fuki became Itsuka's foster mother.

The Deaimon manga is written and drawn by Rin Asano. It started being published in a magazine called Young Ace in May 2016. A seinen manga means it's aimed at young adult men. The story has been collected into thirteen tankōbon volumes. These are like graphic novels.
The Anime TV Show
An anime TV show based on the manga was announced in 2021. The show was made by Encourage Films. Fumitoshi Oizaki directed the series. Reiko Yoshida wrote the scripts. The music was created by Ren Takada. The anime aired from April 6 to June 22, 2022. You could watch it on TV channels like AT-X in Japan. Outside of Japan, Crunchyroll has the rights to stream the series. The opening song is "Sumire" by Maaya Sakamoto. The ending song is "Koko ni Aru Yakusoku."
