Dean Arthur Deetz (born November 29, 1993) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He was chosen by the Houston Astros in the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft. Deetz played his first game in Major League Baseball (MLB) in 2018.

Dean Deetz's Baseball Journey
Dean Deetz grew up in Nixa, Missouri. He went to Nixa High School and later played college baseball at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. This is where he showed his talent for pitching.
Playing for the Houston Astros
The Houston Astros picked Dean Deetz in the 11th round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft. This was a big step for him to become a professional baseball player.
Starting in the Minor Leagues
After being drafted, Dean started playing in the minor leagues. He played for several teams, including the Greeneville Astros, Tri-City ValleyCats, and Quad Cities River Bandits. He worked hard to improve his pitching skills. In 2016, he played for the Lancaster JetHawks and Corpus Christi Hooks. He continued to move up through the different levels of minor league baseball. By 2017, he reached the Triple-A level with the Fresno Grizzlies.
Making it to Major League Baseball
Dean Deetz made his exciting debut in Major League Baseball on September 5, 2018. He played for the Houston Astros, which was a dream come true for him. He pitched in a few games for the Astros that year.
Later Years with the Astros
In 2019, Dean played for different minor league teams again, including the Gulf Coast League Astros and Round Rock Express. He continued to work on his game. In 2020, he did not play because the minor league season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After that, he became a free agent.

Kansas City Monarchs
In May 2021, Dean signed with the Kansas City Monarchs. This team is part of the American Association of Professional Baseball, which is an independent league. He played in a couple of games for them before leaving the team in June 2021.
Sioux Falls Canaries
In May 2022, Dean joined another independent team, the Sioux Falls Canaries. They are also in the American Association of Professional Baseball. He pitched in two games for the Canaries before he was released in June 2022.
