Dean was born in Kaneohe, Hawaii. He went to Brigham Young University. After finishing college in 1992, he became a professional golfer. He has won many golf tournaments around the world. He won six times on the Japan Golf Tour. He also won once on the PGA Tour in the United States.
In 2009, Dean had a tough year playing golf. He lost his full playing rights on the PGA Tour. But he worked hard and got them back in 2010. He has not played a full season since 2011.
