Deborahe Elizabeth Glasgow (born January 19, 1966 – died January 25, 1994) was a talented singer from England. She was known for her "lovers rock" music, a type of Reggae that focuses on love songs. Deborahe started singing when she was a teenager in the late 1970s. Even though she released only one album, called Deborahe Glasgow, she had many popular songs. She is especially famous for her duet with the artist Shabba Ranks. Their song was first called "Champion Lover" and later became the hit "Mr. Loverman".

Deborahe Glasgow was born in London, England. She began her music career very early. When she was in her mid-teens, she recorded her first song. It was called "Fallin' in Love" and she used the name Debbie G. This song was made with producer Mad Professor.

Starting Her Music Journey

Deborahe became popular in London by performing at local "sound system" events. These were like big parties where DJs played music. This helped her gain many fans. Soon, she signed a record deal with Greensleeves Records. This company helped her release many hit songs. Some of her popular singles included "Knight in Shining Armour," "When Somebody Loves You Back," and "Don't Stay Away."

Working with Top Producers

In 1989, Deborahe went to Jamaica to work on an album. She teamed up with a famous dancehall music producer named Augustus "Gussie" Clarke. Many of the songs on this album were backed by the well-known music duo Steely & Cleevie. This album was a big moment in Deborahe's career. It helped make her name famous in the music world.

The Deborahe Glasgow Album

The album she made in Jamaica was called Deborahe Glasgow. Many music critics said it was one of the best "lovers rock" albums ever. One song from this album, "Champion Lover," had a strong and unique sound.

In 1990, the artist Shabba Ranks made his own version of "Champion Lover." He changed the name to "Mr. Loverman" and put it on his album Rappin' with the Ladies. After Deborahe's death, Shabba Ranks recorded the song again. This time, he sang it with Chevelle Franklin. This new version became a huge hit around the world.

Later Years and Legacy

In the early 1990s, Deborahe worked with another artist named General Lee. They created songs like "Weak" and "Knocking the Boots." She also sang for some advertisements, which was good work. However, she decided to spend more time with her young family.

Sadly, Deborahe Glasgow passed away on January 25, 1994. She was only 28 years old. She died in Wandsworth, South London, from health problems. After her death, special concerts were held in London, Birmingham, and Manchester. These concerts helped raise money for her four children.
