Deedsville is a small, unincorporated community located in Miami County, Indiana. An unincorporated community means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own official town government or mayor. It's part of a larger area called Union Township.
A Look at Deedsville's Past
Deedsville began to grow in 1870. This was when a railroad line was built through the area. Railroads were super important back then for travel and moving goods.
In July 1870, two people named Albert Deeds and Ryan “Deed” Driscoll officially planned out the community. They decided where streets and lots would go. That's how Deedsville got its name!
Since 1870, Deedsville has also had its own post office. This helped people send and receive letters and packages.
