Deer Falls is an amazing waterfall located in Snohomish County, Washington. It's the highest waterfall on the North Fork Skykomish River. This beautiful waterfall drops into a deep, blue pool.
Deer Falls is special because it's the biggest waterfall on the North Fork of the river. It's also considered one of the best waterfalls in the area. The water plunges about 90 feet (30 meters) in one impressive drop. This type of waterfall is called a "horsetail" because the water stays in contact with the rock behind it, looking like a horse's tail.

Getting to Deer Falls can be a bit of an adventure! Even though it's near a main road, the waterfall is quite a distance below it.
How to See the Falls
To see Deer Falls, you need to climb down from the road. You'll go down about 100 to 150 feet (30 to 45 meters) to reach the edge of the canyon. From this spot, you can get a great view of the falls. However, you'll still be about 150 to 200 feet (45 to 60 meters) above the powerful North Fork Skykomish River. It's a challenging but rewarding view!
