Deerfield, Garrett County, Maryland facts for kids
Deerfield is a small community located in a quiet, countryside area in western Maryland. It is found in the beautiful Garrett County. The community has 35 pieces of land, called lots.
Two groups, Frye and Gross, started Deerfield in 1980. For many years, most of the land stayed empty. Then, in 1995, a person named John Case built the first small log cabin on lot 12. After that, more homes started to be built. Even though all the lots are now sold, only 13 of them have homes built on them so far.
In 2005, the Deerfield Property Owners Association officially became a group in Maryland. This group holds a meeting every October. They talk about things important to the community. All property owners are welcome to attend these meetings.
