Delma facts for kids
Delma is a special watch company from Lengnau, Switzerland. Two brothers, Adolf and Albert Gilomen, started it in 1924. They make high-quality watches that are known for their craftsmanship.
The Story of Delma Watches
When the Gilomen brothers first started their company, they registered a few different brand names. These names were Thuya, Midland, Delma, and Gil. Thuya was the main name for their company at the beginning. The name Delma first appeared on their watches in 1933.
Later, in 1966, Ulrich Wüthrich and Fritz Fankhauser took over the company. They decided to make Delma the official company name. In 1996, Fred Leibundgut, who is Ulrich Wüthrich's son-in-law, joined the company. He later became the President and CEO.

Delma Watch Collections
Delma organizes its watches into different groups or "collections." These collections include watches for racing, diving, dress watches for special occasions, and watches designed for ladies.
- Delma made its very first professional diver's watch in 1975.
- In 2011, they released an amazing professional diver's watch that could go as deep as 3,000 meters (about 9,900 feet) underwater!
Delma's Partnerships
In 2016, Delma worked with the IMOCA 60 sailing team. They became the Official Timer for a big boat race called the Transat New York to Vendée. This meant Delma watches were used to keep the official time for the race.
