History of Delton
Delton started as a town called New Buffalo on January 8, 1850. Later, on November 17, 1871, its name was changed to Delton.

Delton covers about 30.2 square miles (78.2 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 29.6 square miles (76.7 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 0.6 square miles (1.6 square kilometers), is water.
