College Basketball Journey
Demetrius Alexander started his college basketball journey at Hutchinson Community College. Later, he moved to the University of Alabama and finished his studies there in 1998.
Professional Basketball Career
Demetrius Alexander began his professional basketball career in 1998. He played for teams like the Atlanta Trojans and Idaho Stampede in the United States.
Playing in Europe and Asia
In 2000, Demetrius moved to Europe to play. He joined teams in Israel, like Hapoel Galil Elyon and Hapoel Jerusalem B.C.. He also played in Italy for Pallalcesto Amatori Udine.
Later, Demetrius played in South Korea for the Changwon LG Sakers during the 2005-2006 season. In April 2006, he joined Élan Béarnais Pau-Orthez in France for the rest of that season.
Playing in Spain, Latvia, and Ukraine
In the summer of 2006, he signed with Caja San Fernando in Spain for the 2006-2007 season. From 2007 to 2009, he played for Barons/LMT Rīga in Latvia. In February 2009, he joined BC Donetsk in Ukraine.
For the 2009-2010 season, Alexander played for Kavala B.C. in Greece. He then moved to BC Azovmash in Ukraine in January 2010 and played there for another season. In December 2010, he was named the Eurocup MVP for Round 3, which is a big award in European basketball.
Final Years in Basketball
In January 2012, Demetrius signed with Bnei HaSharon in Israel. However, he played only one game there. He then returned to the United States to play for the St. Louis Phoenix, which was his last team before retiring.
