The Dendropsophus padreluna is a type of frog that belongs to the Hylidae family, also known as tree frogs. This special frog is only found in one country: Colombia. It was first discovered in a place called Albán, in the Cundinamarca Department. This is its "type locality," meaning the exact spot where scientists first identified it.
Where the Padreluna Tree Frog Lives
These frogs love to live in wet, grassy areas. You can find them among shrubs in places like flooded grasslands, open fields (pastures), swampy areas (marshes), and even in small pools of water that might dry up later.
Its Conservation Status
Even though the Dendropsophus padreluna only lives in a small part of Colombia, there are many of them! Scientists have studied this frog and found that it is not in danger. This means it is not considered a threatened species, which is great news for this unique Colombian frog.
