Dennis Jones (born in 1958) is an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter. He plays a type of music called blues rock. Since 2003, he has released eight albums. Dennis Jones has also opened shows for famous musicians like Johnny Winter, Buddy Guy, and Dick Dale.

About Dennis Jones's Music Journey
His Early Life and Musical Start
Dennis Jones was born in Monkton, Maryland, in the United States. When he was young, his parents had a great collection of records. These included music by famous blues artists like B.B. King and Bobby Bland. This music inspired him a lot.
When he was 13, Dennis wanted to play drums. But instead, he got a guitar. As a teenager, he played in many local bands. He also started writing his own songs. After high school, his band even played at a party his parents held.
Building His Career in Music
At 18, Dennis felt adventurous and joined the military. He was stationed in Germany. Later, he moved back to Baltimore County. Then, he moved again to Los Angeles.
In Los Angeles, Dennis worked a regular job during the week. He played his music on the weekends. He formed one of his first bands there called Blackhead. After that band, Dennis decided to lead his own band playing blues rock music.
Playing with Other Musicians
Dennis Jones played guitar with a group called Zac Harmon & the Mid-South Revue. He played on their live album, Live at Babe and Ricky's Inn, in 2002. In 2004, this group won first place at the 20th International Blues Challenge.
After that, Dennis performed on special cruises. These cruises featured legendary rhythm and blues music.
His Solo Albums and Achievements
Dennis Jones released his first solo album, Falling Up, in 2003. He put it out on his own record label, Blue Rock Records. A song from this album, "Deep Blues," was even used in the 2006 movie Sea of Fear.
His next album was Passion For The Blues in 2006. In 2009, he released Pleasure & Pain. People said this album had "vintage and gritty blues-rock" sounds.
My Kinda Blues was his fourth album, released in 2012. It featured other great musicians like Kenny Neal and Guitar Shorty. In 2016, he released Both Sides of the Track. This album included Jimmy Zavala, who played saxophone for Etta James.
In 2018, Dennis Jones and his band recorded a live album called WE3. This album showed off some of his favorite songs.
Recent Music and Awards
After touring in Europe, Dennis started writing songs for his seventh album. This album was called Soft Hard and Loud. It came out on October 16, 2020. He worked with bass player Cornelius Mims to produce it.
On August 3, 2023, Dennis Jones received a special award. It was the Bobby Rush Entertainer Award. He got it for his amazing blues musicianship at the Jus Blues Awards in Tunica, Mississippi. In June 2024, Dennis released his eighth album, About Time. Nine out of ten songs on this album were new songs written by him.
