The Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys is a special place in Lakewood, Colorado. It's a museum where you can explore tiny worlds, beautiful dolls, and fun toys from many different times. It's a "non-profit" museum, which means it's run by people who want to share these amazing collections with everyone, not to make money.
Discovering the Museum
This museum is a treasure chest of miniature items, dolls, and toys. Imagine seeing tiny houses, detailed doll scenes, and toys that people played with hundreds of years ago! The museum has more than 20,000 items. These objects show how toys and miniature art have changed since the year 1680.
A Look at History
The Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys first opened its doors in 1981. It started small, working with the Colorado Historical Society. In 1987, it found its first home inside the historic Pearce-McAllister Cottage. This was a great start for sharing its unique collections.
Moving to a New Home
As the museum grew, it needed more space for its many exhibits. In 2020, the museum moved to a new, bigger location. You can now find it at 830 Kipling Street in Lakewood, Colorado. This new home allows even more people to visit and enjoy the wonderful world of miniatures, dolls, and toys.
