Deonshawn L. Strother, born on April 12, 1972, is a former American football player. He was a running back, which means he carried the ball for his team. Deon played for the Denver Broncos in the National Football League (NFL) for one season. He also played college football at the University of Southern California and later for the Ottawa Rough Riders in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

Early Life and College Football
Deon Strother was born in Saginaw, Michigan. He grew up and went to Skyline High School in Oakland, California.
After high school, Deon played college football for the USC Trojans. He played for them from 1990 to 1993. In college, he was a very active player.
Playing for the USC Trojans
During his first year in 1990, Deon ran with the ball 19 times. He gained 108 yards and scored one touchdown. A touchdown is when a player carries the ball into the opponent's end zone.
In 1991, he had a great season. He ran the ball 129 times for 614 yards. He also scored seven touchdowns by running. Deon also caught seven passes for 21 yards. He even threw one touchdown pass!
His 1992 season was shorter due to injuries. He ran for 41 yards and one touchdown. He also caught ten passes for 86 yards. He threw another touchdown pass that year.
Deon's senior year in 1993 was very strong. He ran the ball 60 times for 310 yards. He scored five rushing touchdowns. He also caught 51 passes for 500 yards and one receiving touchdown. Because of his excellent play, coaches named him to the second-team All-Pac-10. This means he was one of the best players in his college conference.
Professional Football Career
After college, Deon Strother hoped to play in the NFL. He was not chosen in the 1994 NFL draft. This means he was an "undrafted" player.
Playing for the Denver Broncos
Even though he wasn't drafted, the Denver Broncos signed him on April 27, 1994. He joined their team. Later, he was moved to the team's practice squad. This is a group of players who practice with the team but don't always play in games.
On December 15, 1994, Deon was moved to the main team roster. He played in two games for the Broncos during the 1994 season. He did not record any statistics in those games. The Broncos released him from the team in August 1995.
Playing in the CFL
In 1995, Deon Strother also played in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played for the Ottawa Rough Riders. He played in seven games for them.
