Deon Taylor was born in Chicago, a big city in Illinois. He spent his early years growing up in Gary, Indiana. When he was in high school, he moved with his brother and mother to Sacramento, California.

Taylor went to Florin High School. He was a talented basketball player. He even played basketball professionally for a while, joining the NBA Entertainment League. Today, Deon Taylor lives in Sacramento, California. He often films his movies in both Sacramento and Los Angeles.

Deon Taylor's Career in Film

Deon Taylor started his film company, Hidden Empire Film Group, in Sacramento, California. His very first movie as a writer and director was called Dead Tone.

After Dead Tone, Taylor created a horror TV series for BET. This series was named Nite Tales: The Series. It was a low-budget show that became very popular, with one million viewers watching its first episode. Taylor's thriller movie Chain Letter was shown in some theaters in October 2010.

Nite Tales: The Movie was released on DVD in 2008. Deon Taylor has also worked with famous actor Jamie Foxx. They teamed up to co-direct a TV show called Tommy's Little Girl.
