Deondre Burns, born on January 16, 1997, is a professional basketball player from the United States. He currently plays for Prishtina in the Kosovo Basketball Superleague. Before becoming a pro, he played college basketball for two teams: the Little Rock Trojans and the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles.

Early Life and Hometown
Deondre grew up in Yazoo City, Mississippi. His parents are Deon Burns and Belinda Smith. He also has a sister named DeCarnia Smith.
High School Basketball Journey
Deondre played basketball at Newman Smith High School. His coach was Percy Johnson. In February 2015, he scored 30 points in one game. This big win helped his team reach the playoffs.
As a senior, Deondre was a top scorer in his area. He averaged 23.9 points per game. He also had 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He was recognized as an All-Area Honorable Mention player. In May 2015, Burns decided to play college basketball for Little Rock.
College Basketball Career
Playing for Little Rock
As a sophomore at Little Rock, Deondre averaged 7.0 points per game. He also grabbed 1.5 rebounds each game. He shot well, making 45% of his shots from the field. He was also very good at free throws, making 81% of them.
Deondre missed the 2017–18 season because of a knee injury. He was a "redshirt junior" after that, meaning he had an extra year to play. His coach, Darrell Walker, liked to bring Deondre off the bench. This allowed him to score points and help the team. As a redshirt junior, he averaged 10 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. He shot 42 percent from the field.
Moving to Oral Roberts
After his time at Little Rock, Deondre transferred to Oral Roberts. He joined them as a graduate transfer. On January 13, 2020, he was named the Summit League player of the week. This was after he scored 22 points against North Dakota State. He also scored 19 points against North Dakota.
On February 6, he scored a career-high 31 points. This was in a game against North Dakota. As a senior at Oral Roberts, Deondre averaged 15.3 points per game. He also had 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. He was named to the Second Team All-Summit League.
Professional Basketball Journey
Starting in Switzerland
On August 29, 2020, Deondre signed his first professional contract. He joined Starwings Basel in the Swiss Basketball League. He was a top scorer in the league, averaging 20.0 points per game. He also had 4.4 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 4.2 assists per game. He shot 82% from the free throw line.
Playing in Cyprus
After Switzerland, he played for the Metroplex Lightning. On September 8, 2021, Burns signed with Keravnos B.C. in the Cypriot League. In the 2021-22 season, he averaged 20.8 points per game. He also had 5.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. He was very good at three-point shots, making 47.2% of them. In the 2022-23 season, he averaged 14.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.
Recent Teams
On July 19, 2023, Deondre signed with BG Göttingen in Germany. He played with them for a few months. In December 2023, he left the team.
On December 26, 2023, he signed with Hapoel Holon in the Israeli Basketball Premier League. He played there for a while.
On November 9, 2024, he signed with ESSM Le Portel in France. He played for them until July 2025.
