Derya Cebecioğlu (born October 24, 2000) is a talented volleyball player from Turkey. She is about 1.81 meters (5 feet 11 inches) tall and weighs around 69 kilograms (152 pounds). Derya plays as an Outside Hitter, a key position in volleyball. She was a member of the Turkey women's national volleyball team. She last played for VakıfBank S.K. in Istanbul before moving to a Japanese team.

Derya's Club Volleyball Journey

Derya Cebecioğlu started her volleyball career at a young age. She joined VakıfBank S.K. when she was just 14 years old. This club is very famous in Turkey.

Early Success with VakıfBank

While playing for VakıfBank's youth teams, Derya achieved great success. She helped her team win the Turkish Cup. Later, with the junior women's team, they won the Turkish Championship two years in a row. These wins showed her early talent in the sport.

Playing for Senior Teams

Before joining VakıfBank's main "A" team in the 2018–19 season, Derya played for Bahçelievler S.K. on loan. This helped her gain more experience. With VakıfBank, she won many important titles. These included the Turkish Women's Volleyball League, the Turkish Women's Volleyball Cup, and the Turkish Women's Volleyball Super Cup.

She also helped her team win big international competitions. These were the FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship and the CEV Women's Champions League. In the 2019–20 season, she played for Sistem9 Yeşilyurt for two seasons. She then returned to VakıfBank for the 2020–21 season.

Moving to Japan

In May 2023, it was announced that Derya signed a contract with Kurobe AquaFairies. This team plays in Japan's top volleyball league, the V.League. She officially left VakıfBank S.K. on June 1, 2023, to start her new adventure in Japan.

Derya's International Volleyball Career

Derya Cebecioğlu has also played for Turkey's national volleyball teams at different age levels.

Playing for Youth National Teams

In 2014, Derya joined the Turkey girls' national U-15 team. They won a gold medal at the Balkan Volleyball Championship. She also played for the Turkey U-18 team at the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship in Argentina. Her team finished fourth in that competition.

In 2018, Derya won a silver medal with the Turkey national U-19 team at the Balkan Volleyball Championship in Serbia. She also received a special Fair Play Award there. Her U-19 team placed fourth at the 2018 Women's U19 Volleyball European Championship in Albania. Derya was recognized as one of the Best Outside Hitters in that event.

She was also part of the Turkey U-20 team. This team finished fourth at the FIVB Volleyball Women's U20 World Championships in both 2017 and 2019, which were held in Mexico.

Playing for the Senior National Team

Derya Cebecioğlu made her debut with the Turkey national team at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship in Japan. Her team finished tenth. At the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship, Turkey ranked eighth.

She won a silver medal at the 2022 Mediterranean Games in Algeria. Derya became a gold medalist at the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League in the United States. She also won a gold medal at the 2023 Women's European Volleyball Championship.
