Desirèe Henry (born August 26, 1995) is a talented British sprinter. She competes in races like the 100 metres and 200 metres. Desirèe has won several important medals. These include an Olympic silver medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. She also earned a bronze medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 2016 Rio Games. In 2017, she won a silver medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 2017 World Athletics Championships in London.

Desirèe Henry was born in Edmonton, London, on August 26, 1995. She went to Highfield Primary School and then St Anne's Catholic High School. Her family background includes roots from Antigua and Guyana.
Her Amazing Sprinting Career
Desirèe Henry is a very successful athlete. She became the World Youth Champion in the 200 meters race in 2011. Her fastest times are 11.06 seconds for the 100 meters, 22.46 seconds for the 200 meters, and 52.27 seconds for the 400 meters. She achieved all these personal bests in 2016.
Lighting the Olympic Cauldron
A very special moment for Desirèe was in 2012. She was one of seven young people chosen to light the Olympic cauldron. This happened during the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Famous British Olympian Daley Thompson nominated her for this honor.
European and Olympic Success
In 2014, Desirèe helped Great Britain win gold. She ran the final part of the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 2014 European Athletics Championships in Zurich.
By 2016, she had improved her personal best times. This helped her get selected for the Rio Olympics. In Rio, she reached the semifinals of the 100 metres race. She then won a bronze medal in the sprint relay. Her team set a new British record of 41.77 seconds. Her teammates were Asha Philip, Dina Asher-Smith, and Daryll Neita.
She continued her success in 2017. She won a silver medal with the 4 × 100 metres relay team at the 2017 World Athletics Championships in London. In 2024, she won another gold medal in the same event at the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome.
Paris 2024 Olympics
On July 5, 2024, Desirèe was chosen for the British 4 × 100 metres relay team. This team competed at the Paris Olympics. She helped her team win a silver medal in this event. She ran the last part of the race in the qualifying heats.
