Desirèe Henry (born August 26, 1995) is a British sprinter. She is known for competing in short-distance running events. These include the 100 metres and 200 metres races. She has won many important medals for Great Britain.

In 2024, she won an Olympic silver medal. This was for the women's 4x100 metres relay race at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. She also won a bronze medal in the same relay event at the 2016 Rio Games. In 2017, she earned a silver medal in the 4x100 metres relay at the 2017 World Athletics Championships in London.

Desirèe Henry was born on August 26, 1995. Her birthplace was Edmonton, London, England. She went to Highfield Primary School when she was younger. Later, she attended St Anne's Catholic High School. Her family has roots in both Antigua and Guyana.

Athletic Career Highlights

Desirèe Henry became a world champion in 2011. She won the World Youth Championships in the 200 meters race. Her fastest times, called "personal bests," were set in 2016. She ran the 100 meters in 11.06 seconds. For the 200 meters, her best time was 22.46 seconds. She also ran the 400 meters in 52.27 seconds.

A special moment for Desirèe was in 2012. She was one of seven young people chosen to light the Olympic cauldron. This happened at the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games. A famous British athlete, Daley Thompson, nominated her for this honor.

In 2014, she helped Great Britain win a gold medal. She ran the final part of the 4x100 metres relay. This was at the European Championships in Zurich.

Desirèe continued to improve her running times. In 2016, she was chosen to compete at the Rio Olympics. She reached the semifinals in the 100 metres race. Later, she won a bronze medal in the sprint relay. Her team set a new British record with a time of 41.77 seconds. Her teammates were Asha Philip, Dina Asher-Smith, and Daryll Neita.

She won another silver medal in 2017. This was for the 4x100 metres relay team at the 2017 World Athletics Championships in London. In 2024, she won a gold medal in the same event. This happened at the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome.

On July 5, 2024, Desirèe was named to the British 4x100 metres relay team. This team competed at the Paris Olympics. She helped her team win a silver medal in the event. She ran the last part of the race in the qualifying heats.
