Asha Solette Philip (born October 25, 1990) is a talented English sprinter. Before becoming a runner, she was a junior gymnast, excelling in double mini-trampoline. At just 16, Asha made history by becoming the first British woman to win a global 100-meter title. She achieved this at the 2007 World Youth Championships.
However, a serious knee injury from gymnastics stopped her sports career for a few years. After a long recovery, she returned to athletics in 2014. She quickly found success, winning a gold medal at the European Athletics Championships in the 4 x 100 meters relay for Great Britain. She also earned a bronze medal in the same event at the Commonwealth Games for England.
In 2017, Asha won her first major individual title. She took home a gold medal in the 60 meters at the 2017 European Athletics Indoor Championships. She is also a key member of Great Britain's 4 × 100-meter relay team. With teammates like Dina Asher-Smith, Desiree Henry, and Daryll Neita, she won an Olympic bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Games. She also has silver medals from the 2017 and 2019 World Championships in the same relay event. Asha is known for her fast starts and often runs the first part of relay races.

From Gymnastics to Sprinting
In July 2007, Asha won a gold medal in the 100 meters at the World Youth Athletics Championships. This was a huge achievement for her. But soon after, she suffered a serious knee injury.
