Desirée Dawson is a talented singer and songwriter from White Rock, British Columbia, Canada. She also plays the baritone ukulele. Desirée became well-known after winning the CBC Music's Searchlight talent contest in 2016.

After winning Searchlight, Desirée performed at the CBC Music Festival. She released her first album, called Wild Heart, in 2017.

Desirée's Music Journey

Desirée has also worked with other artists. She was a guest singer on the Pegboard Nerds' Nerds by Nature EP. She also sang on their song "Disconnected VIP". Another song she sang on was "Sunny Day" by Kicks N Licks.

In 2020, Desirée worked with Paul Chin on his EP Full Spectrum. She sang the main song, "Take It or Leave It". This song was written at a special songwriting camp. The famous musician Babyface helped organize the camp.

Awards and Recognition

Desirée's 2021 EP, Meet You at the Light, was nominated for a big award. It was up for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2022. The Juno Awards are like the Grammy Awards for Canadian music.

In the same year, the music video for her song "Meet You at the Light" also won an award. The video, directed by Alexander Farah, won the Music Video Competition Jury Award at SXSW. SXSW is a huge festival that celebrates film, music, and technology.

Desirée also sang on the song "With You" by Sun-El Musician in 2017. This song was part of his album Africa to the World.
