In 2016, Desirée Dawson won the Searchlight talent contest. This was a major step in her music career. After winning, she got to perform at the CBC Music Festival. This helped her share her music with many new fans.

First Album and Collaborations

In 2017, Desirée released her first solo album. It was called Wild Heart. She also worked with other musicians. She sang on songs for groups like Pegboard Nerds. You can hear her voice on their Nerds by Nature EP and a song called "Disconnected VIP". She also sang on "Sunny Day" by Kicks N Licks.
