Desiree Miller (born August 12, 1987) is an amazing paralympic athlete from the United States of America. She is best known for her skills in wheelchair basketball. Desiree is the oldest of four children. She was born with a rare condition called spina bifida.

Her Journey to the Paralympics
Desiree worked hard and became a top athlete. She competed in the 2012 Summer Paralympics. These games are for athletes with disabilities. She also played in the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio.
Winning Gold in Rio
At the 2016 Rio Paralympics, Desiree was the captain. She led the U.S. Women's Wheelchair Basketball Team. Her team played incredibly well. They won the gold medal in women's wheelchair basketball! This was a huge achievement for Desiree and her team. It showed how dedication and teamwork can lead to success.
