Desperados is an exciting British TV show made for kids. It's a drama series that first aired in 2007 on CBBC. The show is all about a special wheelchair basketball team. It follows the journey of a character named Charlie. He used to be a football player. After an accident, he finds a new passion. He joins the Desperados team and discovers a new purpose in life.
The team's coach, Baggy Awolowo, is always looking for new players. He believes that being part of the team is more than just playing basketball. It's a "way of life." Baggy even invites Aidan, Charlie's friend, to join the team. Aidan is the only player who doesn't use a wheelchair. Baggy was really impressed by Aidan's amazing basketball skills.
The show isn't just about sports. It also explores the lives of the players off the court. You'll see their different home lives. Sometimes, things get a bit tricky for them.
Desperados was first shown on the CBBC Channel. It aired every Wednesday. Later, it was also shown daily on BBC One. The head of the BBC, Mark Thompson, said the show was "hugely important."
