Anna Maria Bernadette "Det" de Beus (born 18 February 1958) was a famous field hockey player from the Netherlands. She was born in Utrecht. Det de Beus made history as the first female field hockey goalkeeper to wear a special mask for protection.

Det de Beus was a talented goalkeeper. She played for the Eindhovense Mixed Hockey Club in Eindhoven. Her skills helped her become a key player for the Dutch national team.

Playing for the Netherlands

Det de Beus played for the Netherlands from 1978 to 1988. She played in 105 international matches for her country. This is a very impressive number of "caps," which means appearances in games.

Olympic Glory

Det de Beus was part of the Dutch team that won a gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. This was a huge achievement for her and her team.

She continued to play at the highest level. At the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, her team won the bronze medal. They beat Great Britain with a score of 3–1. After these Olympics, Det de Beus retired from the sport in September 1988.
