Devetero vrela means "Nine Sources" in English. It is a small river located in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This short river is a right-side branch of the Ilomska river. It flows into the Ilomska river below an area called Petrovo Polje.

Even though Devetero vrela is only about half a kilometer (0.3 miles) long, it can carry a lot of water. This is especially true because it has many natural springs that feed into it. The river gets its name from the idea that there are nine springs in one place. However, it can be hard to see all nine springs clearly with your eyes.

Where is Devetero vrela located?

Devetero vrela is found in the country of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is part of a larger river system. This small river flows into the Ilomska river. The Ilomska river itself is a tributary of the Vrbanja river. The Vrbanja river then flows into the Vrbas river. So, Devetero vrela is a tiny but important part of a much bigger network of rivers.

How high is Devetero vrela?

The river starts at an elevation of about 1,000 meters (around 3,280 feet) above sea level. It then flows downhill. Where it joins the Ilomska river, its elevation is about 995 meters (around 3,264 feet). This small drop in elevation helps the water flow along its short path.

Why is it called "Nine Sources"?

The name "Devetero vrela" directly translates to "Nine Sources" or "Nine Springs." This name suggests that the river is fed by many different natural springs. These springs are places where groundwater comes up to the surface. While the name points to nine specific springs, it can be difficult to count them all visually. This is because some springs might be hidden or flow together.
