Dhanik Lal Mandal's Life
Dhanik Lal Mandal was born in Belha Village, located in the Madhubani district of Bihar. He went to school at Northbrook District School in Darbhanga. Later, he studied at Mithila College in Darbhanga and then at Allahabad University. He passed away on November 13, 2022, at the age of 90.
Starting in Politics
Mandal began his political journey in the state of Bihar. He became a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. This is like the state-level parliament. He served there from 1967 to 1974. During this time, he also became the Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from 1967 to 1969. The Speaker is like the leader who makes sure meetings run smoothly.
Serving in the National Parliament
Dhanik Lal Mandal was elected to the Lok Sabha two times. He represented the Jhanjharpur area in Bihar. His first election was in 1977, and he was elected again in 1980.
