Die Caufner-Schwestern was a music group from East Germany. It started in 1977. The group was made up of three sisters: Juliane Albrecht (whose maiden name was Kaufner), Isa Kaufner, and Irina Kaufner. They were best known for playing disco music.

Band History

The four Kaufner sisters, Iris, Juliane, Isa, and Irina, loved to sing. They sang together in Rostock even when they were children. From 1972 to 1973, Juliane and Isa took special singing lessons. They also joined a group called the College Formation.

In 1973, Isa Caufner sang solo on some songs. These songs were part of a music collection called Examen in Musik. Juliane Kaufner later married Klaus-Peter "Biene" Albrecht. He was a musician and later became a music producer for Amiga.

In 1976, the four sisters formed a singing group called Caufner-Collection. They appeared on a TV show called Familien-Disko in 1977. Soon after, Iris Kaufner left the group. The remaining three sisters changed their name to Caufner-Schwestern. By 1978, they had appeared on five episodes of Familien-Disko.

Their first song, Komm doch, was released in 1978. Another song, "Laß dieses „he“", came out the same year. The group also won an award for their tour show, Drei unterwegs. Die Caufner-Schwestern performed on the TV show Ein Kessel Buntes. They also gave concerts in other countries.

In 1980, Isa Kaufner left the group. She started performing on her own as Isa Caufner. In 1982, two of their songs were released on a music collection. These were Man weiß ja nie by Die Caufner-Schwestern and Ich bin ich by Isa Caufner.

Juliane Albrecht and Irina Kaufner continued to perform as a duo until 1987. Sadly, Irina passed away in 2010. In 1989, Juliane Albrecht and her husband started a country band called Country Delight. They were still part of this band in 2016.
