Diego Gómez Cabrera (born 1936 – died 3 March 2021) was a Spanish journalist, actor, and television presenter. He was also an editor and broadcaster. He was very well-known for his long career in radio and television, especially in the city of Málaga, Spain.

Biography
Diego Gómez Cabrera was born in 1936 in the Churriana area of Málaga, Spain. He spent some of his childhood in the Huelin neighborhood. He later studied acting at the Conservatory of Málaga.
Radio Career
Gómez started his radio career at Radio Juventud-La Voz de Málaga. For almost 40 years, he hosted a show called 'Cancionero'. On this show, he played and helped make songs popular. He also worked with María Teresa Campos at Radio Juventud. From 1972, they presented the 'Estrellas de la Copla' program together. They also hosted many live shows at the Tivoli amusement park. Later, he hosted 'El patio de Radiolé' on the Radiolé network. He also worked for Radio Nacional de España.
Television and Journalism
Diego Gómez also appeared on television. He was on the show 'Pasa la vida' on Televisión Española. He also worked on other channels like Localia Televisión and Canal Sur.
He also worked as a journalist. For ten years, he wrote a weekly page for the newspaper Diario Sur. This page was called 'Musical Sunday'.
Connection to Málaga's Traditions
Gómez was very involved with the traditional religious groups in Málaga, known as "confraternities." He was the leader of the Royal Brotherhood of Our Lady of Rocío de Málaga. For over 40 years, he broadcast the main events of Holy Week in Málaga. Every year, he would recite a special poem by Luis María Cabanillas to the Captive Christ statue. He also recorded several albums where he recited popular poems and song lyrics. His voice was very recognizable. From 1988, he was a member of the San Juan de Ávila Family Apostolate Movement.
Personal Life and Death
Diego Gómez was married to Lucía Redoli. They had two children and four grandchildren. He passed away at the age of 84. He died in the Regional Hospital of Málaga. He had been in the hospital for several weeks due to an illness caused by COVID-19.
