Diego de Losada y Cabeza de Vaca (1511 – 1569) was a Spanish explorer and leader. He is famous for founding Santiago de León de Caracas in 1567. This city is now the capital of Venezuela.
Losada was born in a place called Rionegro del Puente in Spain. This area is now known as the province of Zamora. He traveled across the ocean and arrived in Puerto Rico in 1533.
