Dim Zupan is a famous Slovene writer. He is best known for his exciting books for children. He was born in Ljubljana on February 19, 1946.

Dim Zupan studied Law at the University of Ljubljana. But his real passion was writing stories. He published his first children's book in 1991. This book introduced two very popular characters: Drekec Pekec and Pukec Smukec. These characters were so loved that they appeared in many more of his books!

He has written over twenty books for young readers. He also wrote a few novels for adults and even a play. In 1996, he won the important Levstik Award. This award was for his books Drekec Pekec in Pukec Smukec and Leteči mački (Flying Cats).
