Ding Guangquan (born October 14, 1944 – died January 18, 2018) was a famous Chinese comedian. He was best known for performing Xiangsheng, which is a special kind of traditional Chinese comedy. Think of it like a funny conversation or stand-up comedy act!
He was a very important actor in the China Coal-Mine Art Troupe. Over the years, he taught comedy to more than 40 students.

Who Was Ding Guangquan?
Ding Guangquan was a master of Xiangsheng, a popular form of Chinese comedy. It often involves two performers talking back and forth, telling jokes and funny stories. He was born in 1944 and passed away in 2018.
Learning from a Master
Ding Guangquan learned his comedy skills from one of the most famous Xiangsheng masters, Hou Baolin. He began studying with Hou Baolin in 1973. Learning from such a great teacher helped Ding Guangquan become a master himself.
