Dinner Key is a large marina complex located in the Coconut Grove area of Miami, Florida. It sits right on the beautiful Biscayne Bay. This spot is a popular place for boats and ships.

Long ago, Dinner Key was actually a small island. But in 1914, people filled in the water between the island and the mainland. This connected Dinner Key to the rest of Miami. Some say it got its name because it was a great place for boat travelers to stop and eat dinner!

You can easily get to Dinner Key using public transit. There's a special bus called the Coconut Grove Circulator. It connects Dinner Key to the Miami Metrorail stations at Coconut Grove and Douglas Road.

In the past, Dinner Key was a very important place for air travel. It was home to the Coast Guard Air Station Dinner Key and the International Pan American Airport. The old airport building is now used as Miami City Hall.

Dinner Key Auditorium

One of the large buildings at Dinner Key used to be a hangar for airplanes from Pan Am, a famous airline. For many years, this hangar was used as a big hall for shows and events. It was known as the Dinner Key Auditorium. Later, its name changed to the Coconut Grove Convention Center.

From 2007 to 2013, this center was even used as a set for a TV show called Burn Notice. The building was taken down in early 2014. This was done to make way for new plans from the City of Miami.
