Dino da Costa (born August 1, 1931 – died November 10, 2020) was a professional football player. He was born in Brazil but also played for the Italian national team. He was known for being a great goal scorer, playing as a striker or central midfielder.

Dino da Costa's Club Career
Dino da Costa started his football journey in his home country, Brazil. He played for a team called Botafogo from 1948 to 1955. He was a very good goal scorer, getting 36 goals in 51 games. In 1954, he was the top scorer in the Campeonato Carioca league with 24 goals. He also helped Botafogo win the league title in 1948.
Playing in Italy
After his time in Brazil, Dino da Costa moved to Italy. He played for several big clubs in Serie A, which is Italy's top football league.
Time with Roma
He joined Roma in 1955. He played for them until 1961 and scored 71 goals in 149 games. This made him one of Roma's best scorers. In the 1956–57 season, he was the top scorer in Serie A with 22 goals. He also helped Roma win the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1961. Dino da Costa is also one of the top scorers in the famous "Rome Derby" (a match between Roma and Lazio), with 11 goals.
Other Italian Clubs
While at Roma, he also played for Fiorentina for a short time on loan in 1960–61. With Fiorentina, he won the Coppa Italia (Italian Cup), the European Cup Winners' Cup, and the Coppa delle Alpi.
After leaving Roma, he played for Atalanta from 1961 to 1963. He won his second Coppa Italia with them in 1963. Then, he moved to Juventus and played there from 1963 to 1966. At Juventus, he won his third Coppa Italia in 1965. Towards the end of his career, he also played for Verona and Ascoli.
Dino da Costa's International Career
Even though Dino da Costa was born in Brazil, he played one game for the Italian national team. He scored one goal in that game, which was against Northern Ireland in 1958. Italy lost that game, and it meant they did not qualify for the 1958 FIFA World Cup.
Dino da Costa's Managerial Career
After he stopped playing football, Dino da Costa briefly worked as a coach. He coached teams in lower football leagues and even for the Vatican City's football league.

Dino da Costa passed away in Verona, Italy, on November 10, 2020, when he was 89 years old.
