Diplacodes is a group of dragonflies often called perchers. These amazing insects are part of the Libellulidae family. Perchers come in many beautiful colors. Some are totally black, like the African Diplacodes lefebvrii. Others are a lovely pale blue, like India's Diplacodes trivialis. You can also find intense red ones, such as the Asian–Australian Diplacodes haematodes.
These small dragonflies live in many parts of the world. You can find them in Africa, Asia, Australia, and the South West Pacific.
