Dirk Johannes Lehmann is a German former professional footballer. He was born on August 16, 1971. He played as a striker for many different clubs. Today, he is a football manager. He currently manages the team SC Ederen.

Playing Career Highlights

Dirk Lehmann was born in Aachen, Germany. He started his senior football career with 1. FC Köln. After playing in Germany, he moved to Belgium.

Playing in Belgium

Dirk played for Lierse S.K. for a short time. Then, he joined another Belgian team, R.W.D. Molenbeek. He played 26 league games for Molenbeek. He also played two games in the UEFA Cup.

Moving to England and Scotland

After his time in Belgium, Dirk returned to Germany. He played for FC Energie Cottbus. In the 1998–99 season, he moved to England. He joined Fulham and played 26 league games for them.

After leaving Fulham, Dirk moved to Scotland. He joined the Scottish team Hibernian. He scored two goals in his very first game for Hibernian. This game was a 2–2 draw against Motherwell.

Later, he spent many years playing for Borussia Freialdenhoven. He also played for other local German clubs before ending his playing career.

Coaching Career

After his long playing career, Dirk Lehmann became a football coach. He started coaching lower league teams. He was an assistant coach for Borussia Freialdenhoven. He also worked as a player-manager for teams like Borussia Freialdenhoven II, Alemannia Bourheim, Sportfreunde Düren, and Hambach.

From 2020 to 2023, he managed the Under-17 team for Alemannia Aachen. Currently, Dirk Lehmann is the manager of SC Ederen.
