The Dixie Coca-Cola Bottling Company Plant is a really old and important building in Atlanta, Georgia. It's also known as the Baptist Student Center or Baptist Collegiate Ministry at Georgia State University.
This building, built way back in 1891, was once the main office and bottling factory for the Dixie Coca-Cola Bottling Company. This is where Coca-Cola changed from being a drink you'd get at a soda fountain to a drink sold in bottles everywhere! It was named a National Historic Landmark in 1983 because of its special history. It's one of the few buildings left in Atlanta that shows us Coca-Cola's early days. Since 1966, students from Georgia State University have used the building as their Baptist Student Ministry spot.

What the Building Looks Like
The old Dixie Coca-Cola building is in downtown Atlanta. It's on the corner of Edgewood Avenue and Courtland Street. It's a fairly small building with two floors, mostly made of brick. There's a cool square tower at the corner, made of wood.
The building has a unique shape because of the land it sits on. On the side facing Edgewood Avenue, you can see three big arched windows on the first floor. The roofline on the second floor has different shapes, giving it a fancy, old-fashioned look.
Its Coca-Cola Story
This building was built in 1891. From 1900 to 1901, it was home to the Dixie Coca-Cola Bottling Company. This company was started by Benjamin Franklin Thomas and Joseph Brown Whitehead in 1899. They were given the special job of bottling Coca-Cola for a huge part of the United States.
Coca-Cola first started as a drink served at soda fountains in 1887. This building is the only one still standing out of ten places linked to Coca-Cola's very early history. It played a big part in making Coca-Cola a bottled drink that could be sold to everyone.
What It's Used For Now
Since 1966, the building has been used by Georgia State University as their Baptist Student Center. Over the years, the building needed some care. It has since been fixed up, especially on the outside, to keep its historic look.
