How Djuki Mala Started Dancing
Djuki Mala first caught everyone's eye in 2007. A lady named Margaret Nyungunyungu filmed them dancing in Darwin. One of the dancers was her son, Lionel Dulmanawy Garawirrtja. He created the dance routine to say thank you to his sister's carer, a kind Greek lady named Liliane.

The video of Djuki Mala dancing quickly became very popular online. By 2017, the video had already been watched over 2.7 million times! Since then, it has continued to gain even more fans, showing how much people love their unique style.
Meet the Dancers of Djuki Mala
Many talented dancers have been part of Djuki Mala over the years. Some well-known members include Baker Boy and Baykali Ganambarr. Other dancers who have performed with the group are Yalyalwuy Gondarra, Gadidjirrimiwuy Dhamarrandji, and Bapadjambang Atu. Lionel Dulmanawy Garawirrtja, who helped create their famous routine, is also a member. Mitchell Rang Garawirrtja, Wakara Gondarra, Marko Garmu, Wattjar Garmu, and Tibian Cristopher Wyles have also been part of the group. The group is currently led by Joshua Bond.
