Who is Doc Brown?
Doc Brown is a main character in the Back to the Future film series. He is a brilliant but sometimes wacky scientist. He lives in Hill Valley, California. He is best friends with a teenager named Marty McFly. Together, they go on amazing adventures through time.
The Actor Behind Doc
The amazing actor Christopher Lloyd plays Doc Brown in all three Back to the Future movies. He also appeared in live-action parts of the animated TV show. In the animated series, Doc Brown's voice was done by Dan Castellaneta.
Inspiration and Fame
The way Doc Brown looks and acts was partly inspired by real people. These include the conductor Leopold Stokowski and the famous scientist Albert Einstein. In 2008, Empire magazine chose Dr. Emmett Brown as one of The 100 Greatest Movie Characters of All Time. He was ranked at number 76!
Other Appearances
Christopher Lloyd played Doc Brown again in a movie called A Million Ways to Die in the West. This was a comedy western film made in 2014 by Seth MacFarlane.
