Dolmio is a popular brand that makes many different kinds of pasta sauces. These sauces come in jars, ready-to-eat packets, and stir-in options. The company is owned by Mars, Incorporated. You might know Dolmio from their fun TV commercials featuring puppet characters called "The Dolmio Family." These puppets also appear on the sauce packaging. The Dolmio Family first appeared in Australia and New Zealand in 1987, originally played by actors, and then became puppets in 2003.

The Story of Dolmio
How Dolmio Started
Dolmio pasta sauce began in Australia in 1985. It was first called Alora and was created by Anna Ciccone. Masterfoods and Mars, Incorporated helped sell it. The first product was Alora Spaghetti Bolognese sauce, sold in a 500g glass jar.
In the same year, Alora sauces were also tested in the Grampians region of Scotland. Because they were so popular, the name Alora was changed to Dolmio. The sauces were then sold all over the UK in 1986. By 1989, the name Dolmio was used for the brand all around the world.
Dolmio and TV
From 2005 to 2010, Dolmio was a sponsor of a popular British TV show called This Morning.
Healthy Eating Advice
In 2016, Dolmio shared advice about how to enjoy their products as part of a balanced diet. They suggested that some of their products should be eaten less often, perhaps once a week. This was because these specific products had higher levels of salt, sugar, and fat. This advice helps people make healthy choices when enjoying their meals.
Where You Can Find Dolmio
Today, Dolmio products are sold in many countries. You can find them in the Nordic countries (like Sweden and Norway), the Republic of Ireland, New Zealand, and Russia.
