Domenico De Marco (born December 4, 1936 – died March 17, 2022) was a famous Italian pizza chef. He started his own pizzeria, Di Fara Pizza, in Brooklyn in 1965. His restaurant became very well-known across the country. Many people even called him the "godfather of pizza" in Brooklyn.

Domenico De Marco moved from Caserta, Italy, in 1959. Six years later, in 1965, he opened Di Fara Pizza. He started the restaurant with a business partner named Farina. The name "Di Fara" comes from combining parts of their last names.
How Di Fara Pizza Became Famous
In 1978, Domenico De Marco became the sole owner of the restaurant. He decided to keep the original name, Di Fara Pizza. His unique way of making pizza had a big impact on other pizza makers in Brooklyn. Young chefs like Mark Iacono from Lucali and Frank Pinello from Best Pizza looked up to him.
