Dominique Jolin, born on October 24, 1964, in Quebec, Canada, is a talented Canadian writer, illustrator, and scriptwriter. She also works as a content producer. She is most famous for creating the popular characters Toopy and Binoo.

About Dominique Jolin

Dominique Jolin studied children's literature, creative writing, and scriptwriting at university. In 1992, she published her first children's book, It's Not Fair!. This book won her the Mr. Christie's Book Award.

Since then, Dominique Jolin has written or illustrated over one hundred children's books. These books have been published in many languages, including French, English, Spanish, Catalan, and Korean. Many of her books have won awards and special recognition.

In 1996, she created two very special characters for a reading series: Toopy and Binoo. These characters quickly became very popular.

In 2005, Dominique Jolin showed her Toopy and Binoo characters to a company called Spectra Animation. She then worked with Raymond Lebrun, a writer and director, to turn Toopy and Binoo into an animated television series.

In 2013, Dominique Jolin and Raymond Lebrun created two more animated series for children. These new shows were called YaYa & Zouk and Genius Genie.

Dominique Jolin and Raymond Lebrun also wrote and directed a full-length animated movie about Toopy and Binoo. The movie was released in August 2023.
