Donau-Ries is a rural district located in Swabia, a region in southwest Bavaria, Germany. Its name comes from two important features: the Danube River and the Ries crater. The capital city of the Donau-Ries district is Donauwörth. This district shares its borders with several other districts in Bavaria and also with two districts in the neighboring state of Baden-Württemberg.
