Donn Trenner (born March 10, 1927 – died May 16, 2020) was a very talented American jazz pianist and arranger. He was born in New Haven, Connecticut. Donn Trenner was known for his amazing musical skills. He worked with many famous musicians throughout his long career.
A Musical Journey
Donn Trenner started his music journey early. He played with Ted Fio Rito's band from 1943 to 1945. After that, he joined Buddy Morrow's orchestra in 1947.
Working with the Stars
Donn worked with many famous musicians. These included Charlie Barnet in 1951. He also played with Charlie Parker, Stan Getz, and Charles Mingus. He even toured Europe with singer Anita O'Day in 1958.
Donn Trenner also played for many popular singers. He worked with Lena Horne, Ann-Margret, and Nancy Wilson. He even toured with Bob Hope to entertain U.S. troops.
Television and Studio Work
In the 1960s, Donn Trenner became a studio musician. This means he played music for recordings and TV shows. He also led the house band for The Steve Allen Show. He continued to work in television throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

Donn Trenner was married three times. His first wife was singer Helen Carr. They married in 1947 and stayed together until her death in 1960.
In 1966, Donn married actress and singer B. J. Ward. Even after they divorced in 1978, they remained very close friends. Later, in 1990, Donn married Marycarmen Jones. They had a daughter named Sara Elizabeth Trenner. Even after their divorce in 2005, they continued to celebrate family days together.
