Doolittle Mills is a small, unincorporated community located in Perry County, Indiana. An unincorporated community is a place that isn't officially a town or city, but people still live there. It's part of Oil Township.
History of Doolittle Mills
A place for sending and receiving mail, called a post office, first opened in Doolittle Mills in 1870. It served the community for a long time, closing its doors in 1967.
The community got its name from a local family. This family owned a "mill" in the area. A mill is a building where things like grain are ground into flour, or wood is cut into planks.
