History of Dunga Gali

During the time of British Rule in India, Dunga Gali became an important place. It was used as a special health resort, called a sanatorium, for British soldiers. This was a place where soldiers could go to rest and recover from illnesses in the cool mountain air.

The town had important buildings like a hotel, a church, and a post office. Many Europeans also visited Dunga Gali during this period. Some even built their own houses on the southern slopes of the nearby Mukeshpuri Mountains, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
