Doris Cohen: A Pioneer in Flight
Her Important Work at NACA
Doris Cohen worked at a special place called the Langley Memorial Aeronautical Laboratory. This lab was part of the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA). Think of NACA as an early version of NASA, the agency that sends rockets to space!
In 1941, Doris Cohen wrote a very important research paper. When it was published, she became the first woman at NACA to have her research officially printed. This was a big achievement!
Working with R. T. Jones
Doris Cohen was married to another brilliant scientist named R. T. Jones. He also studied how things fly. They often worked together on projects.
Starting a Telescope Company
